If you would have told me a year ago that a car brand would be a life changing motivator, I would have told you that you were crazy. Since immersing myself in the Land Rover brand, I have found it to be so much more than just a vehicle. Rather a true extension of an adventurous lifestyle. The History of Land Rover and its dedicated followers really caught my attention. So many seemingly ordinary people taking what started as a farm truck on epic ventures.
I read about people like Barbara Toy who took her Series I, Pollyanna, on solo excursions through Africa, the Middle East, across Asia, and even around the world. Later reading an article on Bristol Foster and Robert Bateman being reunited with their long-lost Grizzly Torque, a 1957 ambulance built by Land Rover, that had been lost for decades somewhere in Canada. I found myself reading these tales over and over, looking for other similar Landy excursions into far off places. Watching a spark of adventure turn into a passion for challenge and more.

These accounts were inspiring and motivating, pushing me to want more, to do more, to get outside my comfort zone and test my limits. They were just stories though, it wasn’t until JC’s started helping a customer get ready for the Rebelle Rally that I really made the connection.
When you watch someone prepare for such a journey, you see something in them, a growth, a change. It is so electrifying that you can’t help but seek to mimic that inside yourself. Having such a close-knit team to share the excitement and passion with has been wonderful. Watching the team strive to provide the best for our customers while pursuing their own passion is one of the many reasons, we enjoy coming into work every morning. The team spend their work days maintaining and modifying customer vehicles and then spend their free time building up their own. They are like little kids on Christmas morning when new parts get delivered, and it looks like now with my new Disco, Gertie, I'll be the same way!
As our good friend Bill Burke so perfectly put it… “Do you want to just smell the Green Oval - or, be part of it?!”
